Victoria Park Subdivision

METCO Services Inc. was responsible for all phases of surveying services for Victoria Park. Victoria Park was the first subdivision built in Detroit in over 30 years. The length of time between subdivisions provided many challenges as far as new construction practices in residential subdivisions and the approval process. The new subdivision was built within older subdivisions where lots were re-configured, alleys vacated and the storm and sanitary sewers were re-used and improved.
The first assignment was to prepare an ALTA/ACSM Land Title Survey. A Topographic Survey was then prepared and a subdivision plat of 154 lots was recorded. All of the roads, sewers and grades were laid out by METCO. All of the Legal Descriptions for the easements, lot re-configuration, parcels for street vacation and dedication were prepared by METCO. The Legal Descriptions and drawing were submitted to the City Council for approval.
