METCO was responsible to confer with utilities, appraisers, title companies, attorneys, tax assessors, landowners, and city departments as required to perform the following tasks:
• Identify private landowner conveyances
needed by the City to create new public s
street right-of-ways.
• Prepare City Council resolutions to vacate
public streets and alleys; also to dedicate
new public streets.
• Create new utility easements, legal
instruments and documents required to
convey interests in land for public
purposes.
METCO was also responsible for providing Topographic & Boundary Surveys along with Construction Stakeout. These improvements included:
• Establish Horizontal & Vertical Control of
about 16 city blocks on the City of Detroit
coordinate system.
• Perform Topographic Survey about 150 acres,
within the about 16 blocks in Detroit.
• Establish boundary for the entire site.
Create boundary & easement descriptions for
new commercial & residential parcels.
• Perform construction layout for entire site
including: water, storm, electric &
pavement.
