Electrical System Improvements - Detroit Wastewater Treatment Plant

Based on the findings of the Power System Study prepared by Black & Veatch/METCO, DWSD had identified the following electrical power system equipment for replacement:
• 5 KV Medium Voltage Switchgear Line-up
• 5 KV Starter Line-up
• Outdoor Substations FT-1, FT-2, FT-3 & FT-4
Feeding
• 480V Motor Control Center
The contract DWP-1025 was intended to accomplish the above requirements.
METCO as Subconsultant to Black & Veatch was responsible to develop detailed design and prepare construction plans and specifications for the above improvements.
METCO’s scope of services also included detailed construction sequencing to minimize the process equipment downtime and interruption to the plant operation.
