Design-Build Contract for Emergency Generator at Thirteen (13) DWSD Facilities

To address Y2K program, DWSD has decided to install forty-eight (48) diesel generators at thirteen (13) locations, to be operated as emergency standby and peak shaving system.
METCO was retained to (a) prepare proposal documents for ‘Design-Build’ of this Project; and (b) provide Oversight Consulting Services during construction.
This project was on a fast track, with rigid deadline to have system on line by December 1, 1999 and must be operational to meet any emergency situation at these thirteen (13) locations on December 31, 1999.
The project was completed and the system was utilized as back-up power source on the eve of January 1, 2000.
