Sanitary Sewer Review Assessment and Improvement Program – East Trunk Sewer System – City of Warren

The severe winter storm in February of 1998 had caused severe sewer backup in the northeast part of the City of Warren, resulting in basement flooding. Subsequent to this event, City of Warren had hired the services of METCO Services/Tetra Tech to initiate a study to determine the factors contributing to the sewer backup and develop a series of recommended improvements to address the system deficiencies.
METCO along with Tetra Tech had performed the following tasks:
· TV Inspection of East Trunk Sewer and all
sanitary sewers in the service area.
· Flow monitoring the main East Trunk Sewer
and the major lateral sewers.
· Develop Hydraulic Model to analyze the
system responses.
· Evaluate and recommend solutions.
Accordingly, METCO had prepared a comprehensive assessment study report with series of recommendations. The City of Warren is still reviewing the recommended solutions in light of pending legal issues.
