As member of Program Management Team, METCO was assigned to design and provide construction support services for (a) extensive improvements to the process piping and valving system of the pumps, as to upgrade the reservoir piping and overflow arrangement at Wick Road Pumping Station.
The scope of work includes:
· Replace all process valves including pump discharge cone valves, gate valves and suction butterfly valves.
· Modify the piping as necessary to convert one of the pumps to function on ‘dual mode’.
· Provide new piping network inside the reservoir to improve the hydraulics.
· Provide new overflow system to the reservoir.
· Design concrete repairs and crack sealing of the reservoir as necessary.
The above improvements were design and detailed construction documents were prepared by METCO. In addition, necessary construction phase services including shop drawing review and responses to RFI’s were performed. The project was successfully completed in year 2004.
