Westerly Wastewater Treatment Plant Storage Tunnel and Dewatering Pump Station

The Westerly Storage Tunnel and Westerly Tunnel Dewatering Pump Station Projects (WST and WTDPS) to control overflows and protect the city of Cleveland's roads from flooding, property damage and clean up Lake Erie. The scope of the project was to design an electrical system and instrumentation control for the pump station and other systems related to the projects. Metco also provided professional construction administration services, helped prepare a bid phase process, prepared a basis of design report for new pump station, and prepared a standard of operation and workshop for the district operation crew. The low voltage electrical engineering includes all electrical components and appurtenances starting with the 480V motor control centers, including power distribution, lighting, lighting protection. As well as including control wiring, ethernet communication, fiber optic cable, telephone, paging, fire alarms and closed-circuit TV (CCTV). - Defined risks and suggested ways and a means to mitigate the risks - Provided alternates and recommendations with cost and schedule - Communicated well with district PM, maintenance and operation crews, consulting prime, and other subs - Delivered the final design document on time and on budget; and provided construction management services Project Highlights: - Designed New Electrical Engineering - Designed New Instrumentation and Control System - New HVAC system for pump station - Fire Protection Engineering Services - Detailed Design - Conduit Development / Riser Diagrams - Conduit Schedules
